Philippine Sociological Society: The 1st Sociological Caravan

This was one of the first initiatives of the Socio-Anthro Department, which showcased a series of research fora which aims to promote Sociology as a discipline, a culture of research, and networking among students and scholars of social sciences in the Philippines and also strengthen linkages with other institutions local, national, and international.

Mangrove Tree Planting

September 2015

 

This served as a non-regular class activity in Barangay Cugman for the students enrolled in Community and Ecology to conduct mangrove planting and coastal cleanup, mobilize  students for environmental intervention, and strengthen linkages with local communities regarding environmental concerns.

Community Building

The CB, held in Balingasag, is a yearly tradition for every organization, in order to have an informal, fun-filled getting-to-know-you among the members and build bonds among the students and teachers of the Socio-Anthro Department.

XU held a research summit open for all that showcased different research and studies for students to be involved in research-based activities and grasp the idea of research and its process.

Research Colloquium

Some researchers presented their study to the Sociology-Anthropology students to provide an insightful research presentation to the undergraduates of Sociology and impart an experience to the Sociology students on possible future work

Talakag, Bukidnon

 

Students enrolled in Community Developing/Organizing witnessed cultural leaders perform rituals for them to have a basic input on the cultural rituals in Talakag, Bukidnon and understand community development from the experience

Lantapan, Bukidnon

 

The visit in Lantapan served as a cultural immersion for the Socio-Anthro majors enrolled in Peoples and Cultures of the Philippines to probe into the lifestyle of the indigenous peoples in Lantapan, Bukidnon and undergo anthropological and cultural-based experiences
